Senior Compliance Administrator: New Business Onboarding (Guernsey)

This role forms part of NSM’s Group compliance team and reports to NSM’s Compliance Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in the onboarding and due diligence process for new clients across the Group. This role ensures that all new business meets the Group’s regulatory, legal, and internal policy requirements and supports the Compliance team in maintaining robust client acceptance standards

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the client due diligence (CDD) process for new clients, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Liaise closely with new business leads to establish CDD requirements and identify beneficial owners of new client structures. Co-ordinate the collection of CDD information through NSM’s MESH ID portal, ensuring timely receipt of required documentation.
  • Assist the Compliance Administrator in preparing CDD checklists for Compliance Manager review and sign-off.
  • Maintain and update onboarding records, ensuring internal systems are accurately populated and documentation is appropriately filed.
  • Assist the Compliance Manager in reviewing and refreshing CDD for existing clients to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance. Collaborate with administration teams to facilitate the collection of CDD documents and address queries as they arise.
  • Contribute to maintaining internal registers and records, including PEP, sanctions, and adverse media logs.
  • Support the development, documentation, and refinement of compliance processes, templates, and workflows to drive efficiency and consistency across the team.

The successful candidate will ideally: 

  • Have 4–5 years’ experience working in compliance, preferably within fiduciary and/or fund administration environments.
  • Possess a sound working knowledge of the GFSC Handbook, relevant AML/CFT legislation, and Guernsey Beneficial Ownership requirements.
  • Hold, or be working towards, a relevant professional qualification, such as the ICA Certificate or Diploma in Compliance, AML, or Financial Crime Prevention.
  • Demonstrate a high level of accuracy, organisation, and analytical ability.
  • Be able to manage competing priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to liaise professionally at all levels.
  • Show initiative and proactivity, taking ownership of tasks and seeking continuous improvement
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and internal systems such as Acumen.
  • Be self-motivated, committed to personal development, and able to work with minimal supervision.
